Finally...I have a new blog!! It has taken me about a month to get it up and running to my satisfaction. I am very picky about what I like and do not like..and I have never used WordPress before but after about a million different searches...I finally have it. Still have some tweaking to do...but I am loving it....check out my new home and please feel free to bookmark it as I will no longer by updating this blog.....

Hi hi all! (or whomever stumbled upon my blog...lol!!) So if you haven't noticed already I tend to lol! a lot...for whatever weird reason...that means things are going pretty good right now. Anywhoo...I had just been thinking about all of the digital scrapbooking sites out there...who I love...who I don't love so much.... I do love seeing everyone's creations...talents being showcased, no matter where they are. Now what I am about to say is in no way a bias just because I am a part of these teams but there are a few sites that I just happen to love .. lovvee...loovvee..all for different and the same reasons.

First and foremost...the designers are amazing.....very personable...nice....the communities are all great to be a part of ...and most of all ..they all have some fab monthly challenges that you can take part in and rack up some awesome store discounts. Got to keep those hard drives full don't we?? Just admit it. We as women like to shop...even if we don't admit it. We see something we like...and bam! we are all over it..."mine mine mine!!" lol!!! Okay let me stop...not trying to scare anyone away...just yet... so since this is the beginning of a new month...my birth month (big smile here!)...I thought I would get a head start on telling about some challenges at the sites that I love and think are just totally awesome and no one can top them!..lol!!

It is Sunday night and I have been dreading going to work tomorrow since Friday..lol!! I know I have to earn a living but ggeee!!! I need a serious break. Annyywwhhooo.....

Lately my scrapping mojo has need a little jumpstart...and there are times when I don't have the time to just sit and scrap between working 40 hours a week and running behind a bossy 2-year old.. my time is not MY time. :-( I have had a chance to get well acquainted with templates...at first my pages with them didn't look all that great. Something about them just did not go! I think I have gotten better with practice..lol!!

2011 is fast approaching. This year I have a couple of goals I want to accomplish.
Here's what I got so far....

- Create Aida's 2011 Scrapbook album - double page layouts, one side a normal layout, the other side a big photo with a quote/thought

- Complete Project 365 for 2011 and make it into a mini album

- Learn even more about photography and my camera

- Make a new signature for 2011...something more funky for posting in the forums

And that's all I can remember...it wasn't a long list but there was one more that I know I have forgotten...ugh!
Hate when that happens..lol!

Anywho....I have a couple of pages to share with you and at the bottom I put together a little something as a "thank you" for looking.

Welcome to the Vera Lim Blog Blitz!!! I have never done anything like this...very excited!...soo if I miss something I apologize! Though..I should not because I have read and re-read my post about a million times..lol! Soo..enough of my mindless chatter and on to the goods....

Wild & Beautiful is a digital scrapbooking kit by Vera Lim. We were given this kit to "play with" for the blog blitz. Just looking at the preview I fell in love with it....the soft colors to those perfectly ruffled flowers... I did not know where I start first. She even includes some lovely shadowed versions of the elements (such as the ribbons and flowers). I did not use them on my page...only because I am an extreme "want-to-do-it-myself" kind of person..lol!..yeah! a little OCD...but if I had to do a page in under an hour's time I would definitely have used the elements that are already shadowed.

I could see myself playing with the papers in this kit with some of my other scrap supplies (still using some of the kit's elements) just to mix it up a bit. The papers themselves are a work of art. So let me shush now...you can have a look for yourself and a peek at my page that I made....

Busy Busy Bee!!

Soo after the big DSD weekend..I am still recovering! lol! I mean..it was so hectic that I actually had a headache. Either way...I still enjoyed it..the chats, twitter games, challenges, etc Even after it is over...it is not long before the regularly schedule program is back on. :-)

I have a couple of things I wanted to share this week...some of my latest pages...

I have had this photo of a pizza I made and have been wanting to scrap it. A friend of mine does not believe I made it myself...at home...but I did and it takes about an hour to prepare and cook...delicious and healthy all at the same time. Maybe I will scrap the recipe one day :) Not sure how many would want a recipe from a 26-year old..lol!!!

Hope you're having a great Friday. Mine started off a little rough....four hours of sleep had me falling asleep all day at work! But...I am finally home and doing a little better.

Sooo...I am hosting my first challenge at ScrapMatters - Roadmap to Scrap. There are 8 instructions that I have given that you will use to create a page. Random Makeover - My Fix

Soooo...there was this kit..more like there is this kit....that I am totally in love with at Memory Scraps...
the colors...the gorgeous elements.....oohh....it just called me over and over...so I had to have it! The kit = my fix = Frolic by Misty Mareda @ Memory Scraps

I wanted to use it to scrap my daughter this Friday...she had on the most adorable pink/orange/yellow shirt with her pink leggings with the buttons down the side...well needless to say...she had an accident before I could get a photo.....soooo....I remember a layout I did back in 2009...earrlly times as far as scrapping...and I knew I had to give it a makeover....so here is my original page (please don't laugh).....

Hope everyone's Friday is going great! I know mine is...I took off work today and am sooo glad to be able to do what I want with my day. I think this has been my busiest Friday yet..finding something for Aida to wear for Halloween..having dinner with my sister and nieces and then grocery shopping...and ugh! I went in Target just to find my daughter one little T-shirt and ended up getting this:

Soo...today I have some exciting news....that has made me too giddy and nervous once again...I got an email that made my day 100 times better.....I am now so proud to say I am a Honey Bee at Scrap Orchard!!!!!

Wow ... wow...really? Is all I could say over and over...like I was 12 again. So very excited to be amongst the wonderful ladies at Scrap Orchard. Lots of fun to be had :-D

So so glad today is Friday!! I need this little weekend break away from work and the boringness that surrounds the week days. I have some fall shopping to do for my little girl and that is it! Well...besides a little scrapping and playing around with my camera. I have lots to show you today and I hope that you will have a look.

Ending of a Great Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I enjoyed mine...even though I missed being able to browse the internet. I have a few things to show you before I head off to dreamland. It is almost midnight here. Ugh! I do not like Mondays at all...lol!!

First...ScrapMatters Collaboration by the talented design team has been released. Until September the 16th, the kit is 50% off..after the 16th, it will be revealed and available for purchase at the regular price. I will say that it is a beautiful kit...and not just because I am on the creative team. I love the fall and this is definitely a kit I would grab for my stash for those fall photos. Here is a layout I have created using the kit....

On my page, I blended two of the background papers for the Saturday Special challenge at ScrapMatters. You can check out the challenge here, which gives a short tutorial on blending papers. We would love to see what you create using the challenge instructions. The challenge layouts are due at the end of this month and you earn points towards a store coupon. The more challenges you complete the better. :)

This next gorgeous autumn bundle is Second Spring by Stolen Moments and Captivated Visions. It is fully of gorgeous goodies! I fell in love with it time I saw it...these designing ladies make a fab team. Here's my page:

My favorite part of this kit was the papers..they were gorgeous all by themselves! I think I used as many of them as I could on this one page. I used to be afraid to play with patterns together...but every now and then I will and it turns quite well (to me anyway...LoL!!!).

My next page was created using a gorgeous kit by Scooty's Designs and Designs by Anita. I love their clean, neat design style and this kit is too darling for words. A Drift in Dreams is available @ Memory Scraps and Two Little Pixels...and here is my page...

Before I go, this next page has to be one of my favorites. For two reasons...I am not very good with templates but I love to look at them for inspiration..so when I saw these two talented ladies of Berry Sweet Designs and Busy Bee Designs created a collaborative set...I knew I had to try! The set is called Harvesting Memories available at Memory Scraps. I used two kits by Lauraskathi: Erica and Laney, which are both on sale right now for $2.00 each (SN: her entire store is on sale...a must see!!) Sooo...here's my page:

Free Day!!

For those who celebrate, hope you are enjoying the holiday! I know I am enjoying this free day off from work. Maybe I will have time to get my mind together. The past few weeks have been a little crazy for me but things are tapering off and finally getting back to normal. I have a few pages to share with you today.

This first page was done for a template challenge. I love cut-outs so I knew I had to give it a try. The kit I used is "Forever and Always" by Geek Chic Scraps over at Gotta Pixel. This is the most darling kit. I usually don't like overly girly kits but the papers are so well made and colored and the elements are perfect accents...I really enjoyed playing with this kit.

Then over at ScrapMatters, I had to play along in the "In Living Color" challenge. Great color choices for this month. I used "Love Blooms" by Jennifer Barrette.

And for those that are "journaling-challenged" as I am...there is a great chance to score some points towards store purchases and to get in the groove of journaling more. All memories may not have photos...does not meant they should not be scrapped and preserved. Memory Scraps has a monthly journaling challenge and this time the theme is up to you as long as your page is 70% journaling. For my page I used Father and Son by Designs by Anita.

Over the past week, some fabulous designers have joined the team at Memory Scraps..one of them being : Berry Sweet Designs. Check out her latest kit, Purple Passion, and template set, Loads of Paper.

And..if I were you...I would go check out her store because she is giving away one of her amazing templates for you to try!

Mye De Leon has been quite busy these days-she has recently released two amazing collaborations.

Okay sooo....lots of excitement in the air lately..some wonderful opportunities came about and I had to put some efforts toward them. Happy cannot express how I feel...soo I will close my trap and share my news....

Sweet and Simple

So glad today is Wednesday....that means the week is almost over. Love when the weekend is near...just wish it lasted longer. :-) I have a couple of things to share with you today. Forgive me if I am all over the place. I try to stay on one train of thought but the truth is I think about a lot of things all at once and if I don't get a thought out "on time"...I will forget. :-(
I am only 26 and my brain just won't function right sometimes... lol!!

First...a gorgeous new kit was released a couple of days ago by Mye De Leon Designs at Scrapbook-Bytes....."Simple Living." A color palette is released each month and all of the designers create coordinating mini-kits that are on sale for $1.00 for a week. I mean..this is def a steal. I love to mix and match set from the other designers and see what I can come up with. Here's a look at Mye's kits:

I was so happy to find out that this layout made Gallery Stand-Out at DST and Layout of the Day at The Daily Scrapper.

Sometimes when creating layouts, I can get midway done and don't like them and just delete the entire file. Start and start over several times. Sometimes I feel like I get a little lazy and then there are times that I don't think...I just do... and Mye's kit was wonderful to work with...the quality of her work and the color palette made it easy.

Excitement in the Air

Hope everyone's summer has been going well. Mine is okay. Summer just isn't the same if you're not in school. When I was in school, I could appreciate the summer. Now? Well..work doesn't stop. Summer...fall...winter...spring.....I still have to work. :-( I know what my mama meant now about being a kid as long as you can. Man! LoL!

I do have a wonderful new "guy" kit to show you today. It was released a couple of days ago by Bubblescrap Designs. "Man of the House" is an awesome kit for that special guy in your life. I love the colors, the paper textures and all of the elements she included. So glad the end of the week is here. I need a break!! LoL!
Hope everyone's day is going well. I have really been slacking about updating. Shame shame...but I am trying. :-)
I even have some good things to share.

I was recently accepted on the creative team of Charlize Creations. I love her work. I had been adoring her designs from afar. I saw her ad for a week or so...it was before I left for my trip..and I was like 'I love her work..should I send an app?' So I debated..debated...saw her ad again and decided to send that email. I couldn't resist. She is too sweet.... I am thrilled. At the moment, she is the Featured Designer of June over at Scrapbook Bytes. Check out her interview here. Not only do you get insight on who she is..she is giving away an awesome kit. I love the color palette itself....

Relaxing Sunday

Today has been relatively relaxing. Thank goodness. Lately, I discovered a wonderful series..Bones. I know it has been playing..on its Fifth Season now but I never paid it attention. I decided to check it out on Netflix and I am glad I did. I have watched all 4 seasons and now I am about to scour the net for the current season. Temperance has to be one of my most favorite female characters. She is social but she is not social. She is almost too smart for her own good.

While keeping up with my new interest in Bones, I have had my windows side-by-side attempting to catch up on my scrapping. I would like to share with you some of my latest.

This next layout was made with "Here Comes the Sun" by Mye De Leon (formerly Bubblescrap Designs).

This photo is from my daughter's birthday trip to Disney in Orlando, FL. It was a great trip. Everyone told me that she is only 2..she won't remember, but I am glad I ignored them. We had a blast!

My next layout is also using a photo from our trip. We have 'craft bizarre' at my job where people sell their services and goods. I purchased the shirt in the photo for Aida's second birthday. I used "A Girl's Life" by Maria Designs.

What a week it has been. I am so tired right now I don't know why I am still up. Last Friday, May 14, my daughter turned 2 - my mom and my other half took my daughter to Disney World for her birthday. We got back Monday evening and I am still exhausted from all the running around. Let me not even mention on all the scrapping I have to catch up on- personal and CT assignments. I may not have had a chance to mention that I am a CT member at Scrappity-Doo-Dah. Great site...more friendly people....and great designers.

I must say this has been quite a week ... still not recovered from iNSD...LoL!! Heyy..all in fun though and lots of shopping. Wonderful End to the Weekend

Well I must say this has been quite an eventful weekend. Full of major sales..major purchase and lots of fun chats and challenges. iNSD was definitely fun and I hope everyone had a chance to join in the Festivities. K Studio from After 5 was giving away coupons on her Facebook page...everyone was going wild with coupons on Twitter....it was a slow downloading day but it was worth it (I think..j/k...LoL!!).

Only two days of the work week are here and I am already tired. I have been having migraines all too frequent. When will there be a vacaatttiionn?? LoL! Ahh but it is life and I take it how it comes to me.

Today I wanted to share Dylabel Designs' latest release. It was revealed Friday....I love the colors in this kit. For some reason I like to see red and different hue/shades of blue together...and Belinda (designer, Dylabel Designs) always has crisp, clean elements and papers and colors with the right amount of punch.

Soo...it has been a week since I last posted. Yes...I am lazy, please forgive me.
