Let's change it up!!

Hi hi all! (or whomever stumbled upon my blog...lol!!) So if you haven't noticed already I tend to lol! a lot...for whatever weird reason...that means things are going pretty good right now. Anywhoo...I had just been thinking about all of the digital scrapbooking sites out there...who I love...who I don't love so much.... I do love seeing everyone's creations...talents being showcased, no matter where they are. Now what I am about to say is in no way a bias just because I am a part of these teams but there are a few sites that I just happen to love .. lovvee...loovvee..all for different and the same reasons.

First and foremost...the designers are amazing.....very personable...nice....the communities are all great to be a part of ...and most of all ..they all have some fab monthly challenges that you can take part in and rack up some awesome store discounts. Got to keep those hard drives full don't we?? Just admit it. We as women like to shop...even if we don't admit it. We see something we like...and bam! we are all over it..."mine mine mine!!" lol!!! Okay let me stop...not trying to scare anyone away...just yet...  so since this is the beginning of a new month...my birth month (big smile here!)...I thought I would get a head start on telling about some challenges at the sites that I love and think are just totally awesome and no one can top them!..lol!!

Memory Scraps a.k.a. MScraps

All of the fabulous monthly challenges can be found : here

This month I will be hosting the "All About Me Challenge." Kept it simple and just ask that you create a layout about your favorite color and what it means to you or just why you love the color in general. You can check out my page below to see why I dig the color pink.

Next is a challenge that made me stretch a bit this month as I am a one photo type scrapper. At ScrapMatters, HappyScrapGirl is hosting the Tuesday Template Challenge and provided us with a wonderful free template. Here is my page made with the challenge template:

Almost here...

2011 is fast approaching. This year I have a couple of goals I want to accomplish.
Here's what I got so far....

- Create Aida's 2011 Scrapbook album - double page layouts, one side a normal layout, the other side a big photo with a quote/thought

- Complete Project 365 for 2011 and make it into a mini album

- Learn even more about photography and my camera

- Make a new signature for 2011...something more funky for posting in the forums

And that's all I can remember...it wasn't a long list but there was one more that I know I have forgotten...ugh!
Hate when that happens..lol!

Anywho....I have a couple of pages to share with you and at the bottom I put together a little something as a "thank you" for looking.

These first three pages were made using 3 kits from the Fresh Fruit at Scrap Orchard.....

Blog Blitz

Welcome to the Vera Lim Blog Blitz!!! I have never done anything like this...very excited!...soo if I miss something I apologize! Though..I should not because I have read and re-read my post about a million times..lol! Soo..enough of my mindless chatter and on to the goods....

Wild & Beautiful is a digital scrapbooking kit by Vera Lim. We were given this kit to "play with" for the blog blitz. Just looking at the preview I fell in love with it....the soft colors to those perfectly ruffled flowers... I did not know where I start first. She even includes some lovely shadowed versions of the elements (such as the ribbons and flowers). I did not use them on my page...only because I am an extreme "want-to-do-it-myself" kind of person..lol!..yeah! a little OCD...but if I had to do a page in under an hour's time I would definitely have used the elements that are already shadowed.

I could see myself playing with the papers in this kit with some of my other scrap supplies (still using some of the kit's elements) just to mix it up a bit. The papers themselves are a work of art. So let me shush now...you can have a look for yourself and a peek at my page that I made....

___________________________________________________________________________
**Note: I was provided a copy of this kit by Vera Lim, a guest designer at Oscraps.com.
This review was not influenced by a free kit - just in case you (or the FTC) were worried about this detail.

About The Kit:
Wild & Beautiful is a “gorgeous and stunning pastel colored kit!” It includes 10 papers and 34 elements (available as colored and shadowed versions – 63 total elements).

For those of you have not yet discovered Vera or are just itching to know just a little more info....

About The Designer:
Vera Lim lives in beautiful New Zealand with her dear hubby and two georgious kids. She decided to guest this month at Oscraps because, well, she heard some good things about the O’s and thought why not try it for herself!

You can learn more about her right here:  http://bit.ly/VeraLim_blogblitz

More ways to be "in the know" about Vera Lim:

| Facebook  |  Blog |  Personal Store

Are you still there?!?! Here is the fun part!!

There is a......CONTEST!

Vera has a contest for you to enter into during this blog tour:

1)    Follow the Blog Tour: Visit each blog and gather the words for a Christmas quote. When you have compiled the quote, e-mail it to bloghop @ oscraps.com (remove the spaces).  All e-mails must be received by midnight CST, Wednesday, Dec. 22.

One winner, from those who submit the correct quote, will be picked randomly – using Random.org - to win a kit of his/her choice from Vera Lim.

My part of the quote:  that something so intangible that it is like a fragrance.

Don't forget to keep up with the blog tour: http://bit.ly/VeraLim_blogblitz

Have fun and thanks for looking!!

Busy Busy Bee!!

Soo after the big DSD weekend..I am still recovering! lol! I mean..it was so hectic that I actually had a headache. Either way...I still enjoyed it..the chats, twitter games, challenges, etc Even after it is over...it is not long before the regularly schedule program is back on. :-)

I have a couple of things I wanted to share this week...some of my latest pages...

I have had this photo of a pizza I made and have been wanting to scrap it. A friend of mine does not believe I made it myself...at home...but I did and it takes about an hour to prepare and cook...delicious and healthy all at the same time. Maybe I will scrap the recipe one day :)  Not sure how many would want a recipe from a 26-year old..lol!!!

Basic Alphas: Dotted Kraft by Lyndsay Riches

These next photos I took one day when Aida was having a tantrum. I wasn't sure if I'd ever use them...looks like they came in handy and I am glad I got a chance to scrap them. I am sooo  picky about the photos I choose to use of my child....glad I got out of my comfort zone because this is one of my favorite pages.

Free Day!!

For those who celebrate, hope you are enjoying the holiday! I know I am enjoying this free day off from work. Maybe I will have time to get my mind together. The past few weeks have been a little crazy for me but things are tapering off and finally getting back to normal. I have a few pages to share with you today.

This first page was done for a template challenge. I love cut-outs so I knew I had to give it a try. The kit I used is "Forever and Always" by Geek Chic Scraps over at Gotta Pixel. This is the most darling kit. I usually don't like overly girly kits but the papers are so well made and colored and the elements are perfect accents...I really enjoyed playing with this kit.

Then over at ScrapMatters, I had to play along in the "In Living Color" challenge. Great color choices for this month. I used "Love Blooms" by Jennifer Barrette.

And for those that are "journaling-challenged" as I am...there is a great chance to score some points towards store purchases and to get in the groove of journaling more. All memories may not have photos...does not meant they should not be scrapped and preserved. Memory Scraps has a monthly journaling challenge and this time the theme is up to you as long as your page is 70% journaling. For my page I used Father and Son by Designs by Anita.

Over the past week, some fabulous designers have joined the team at Memory Scraps..one of them being : Berry Sweet Designs. Check out her latest kit, Purple Passion, and template set, Loads of Paper

And..if I were you...I would go check out her store because she is giving away one of her amazing templates for you to try!

Mye De Leon has been quite busy these days-she has recently released two amazing collaborations.
The first is Waiting for the Sunshine with eNKay Design, available here and here.

Layout from me using this kit.......

Then Mye has teamed up with Connie Prince to create another wonderful Digi-Survival-Stash, available here and here.

Here's a page I have made....

And the last page I have to show was created with one of the last kits that will released at Songbird Avenue, Inc. The site will be closing at the end of this month. Everyday Moments was created by ErinInk, a designer from Memory Scraps. Gorgeous kit and definitely a must have. This is a charity kit and can be purchased here

Here is a layout I have created.....

For more inspiration, check out this page at Songbird Avenue, Inc.

Thank you so much for looking!! Since you made it all the way down here :-)... I have a little something to share...enjoy!!
